Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours – Flexible working pattern

Our award-winning legal client, who boasts various office locations within the region, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join their team in Skipton, supporting the Wills, Trusts and Probate Lawyers. This role demands self-management, initiative, and the ability to handle a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Wills, Trusts & Probate team.
  • Prepare correspondence, legal documents, and forms using audio typing, word processing software, online portals, and case management systems.
  • Communicate with clients professionally and empathetically, both in person and over the telephone, always delivering excellent client care.
  • Open, maintain, and manage client files in accordance with firm procedures, ensuring accurate filing and document management.
  • Handle sensitive client and firm information with complete confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the department by managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Participate in relevant training and development activities to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant, within Wills, Trusts & Probate.
  • Strong typing and audio typing skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, case management systems, and online legal portals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a compassionate and professional approach to client interactions.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload effectively.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team environment while also using initiative to work independently.
  • Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of client service.
