Location: Leeds

Salary: £28,000 – £40,000 per annum (DOE)

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Hybrid: 2 days in the office, 3 days from home

Our client is looking to recruit a Revenue Assurance & Protection Specialist to join their expanding team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, investigating irregularities and working collaboratively to protect business revenue while delivering positive customer outcomes.

You’ll be trusted to manage your own portfolio of investigations, using a variety of billing information, smart meter data and account history to identify anomalies, recover lost revenue and ensure all actions are carried out in line with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate complex gas and electricity accounts where revenue loss or irregular activity has been identified
  • Analyse billing information, consumption trends and smart meter data to uncover discrepancies and potential energy theft
  • Review account histories and supporting evidence to determine the most appropriate course of action
  • Produce accurate consumption calculations, billing amendments and back-bill estimates in accordance with industry regulations
  • Coordinate investigations with metering providers, field engineers and external industry partners
  • Arrange meter exchanges, inspections and safety visits while monitoring progress against agreed service levels
  • Communicate investigation outcomes clearly with customers, handling sensitive conversations professionally and empathetically
  • Work closely with Billing, Collections, Customer Services, Legal and Fraud teams to achieve successful case resolutions
  • Ensure vulnerable customers receive appropriate support throughout the investigation process
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, minimise revenue leakage and share best practice across the team

Experience Required

  • Previous experience within Revenue Assurance, Revenue Protection, Fraud Prevention, Investigations or a regulated utilities environment
  • Experience working within the gas, electricity or wider utilities sector
  • Strong analytical ability with experience interpreting consumption data and identifying unusual account activity
  • Excellent attention to detail and confidence managing complex cases independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple investigations and prioritise workloads effectively
  • Competent using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, alongside CRM, billing or case management systems
  • A professional, ethical approach with a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection
  • A DBS check will be required before employment commences
