Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Location: Knaresborough
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a successful and established organisation. Working closely with the Group Management Accountant, you will support a range of finance activities including month end processes, management accounts, reporting, reconciliations and financial analysis.
This role is ideal for a finance professional looking to develop their accounting career within a supportive team while gaining valuable experience across management accounting.
Key Responsibilities Of Assistant Accountant
- Support month end processes, including accruals and prepayments.
- Assist with management accounts preparation and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate financial records and working papers.
- Support purchase ledger and sales ledger activities.
- Produce routine and ad hoc financial reports.
- Maintain asset and lease documentation.
- Assist with year end accounts and audit requirements.
- Analyse financial information to support business improvements.
Experience Required
- Previous experience within a finance role.
- Good understanding of accounting processes and financial administration.
- Experience with reconciliations and maintaining accurate records.
- Strong IT skills, including Excel and finance systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
