Our client, a rapidly expanding, local independent accountancy practice is seeking a Part / Fully Qualified Accountant to join their growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders to partnerships and limited companies, with potential for progression. This position provides the opportunity to develop your expertise in a client-focused practice where you will gain exposure to a varied range of work.
Role and Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare self-assessment tax returns for individuals and sole traders
- Prepare annual accounts and corporation tax computations
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations
- Produce accurate and timely management accounts
- Liaise with HMRC, handling queries and correspondence on behalf of clients
- Maintain and manage client financial records, including bookkeeping
- Deliver exceptional customer service via phone and email
- Attend client meetings as required to discuss financial matters and provide advice
- Commit to ongoing professional development and actively share knowledge with colleagues
Skills and Qualifications:
- AAT Level 4 qualified or qualified by experience
- Ideally a minimum of two years' experience within an accountancy practice; candidates with a relevant industry background will also be considered if qualified to a minimum of AAT Level 4
- Currently studying towards or intending to study ACCA
- Competent in the use of multiple accounting software packages, including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
- Strong IT skills with particular proficiency in Excel
- Confident communicator, able to advise and build relationships with clients
- A collaborative team player with the ability to contribute positively to the wider team
