Are you an HR professional looking for a role where you can broaden your experience, work closely with managers and become genuinely involved in the day to day people agenda? We are recruiting for an established organisation with a nationwide presence that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable HR Coordinator to join their established HR function. This is a varied role offering exposure across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations, performance, absence and general HR support.
The Role
You'll become a key point of contact for employees and managers, supporting a wide range of HR activity across the business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting managers with day to day HR queries, providing practical guidance and escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
- Assisting with employee relations activity including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, absence management and performance concerns.
- Attending HR meetings, taking accurate and confidential minutes and preparing correspondence, meeting documentation and outcome letters.
- Coordinating recruitment activity from vacancy approval and advertising through to interviews, offers and onboarding.
- Building positive relationships with hiring managers and ensuring candidates receive a professional experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Managing new starter and leaver processes, including contracts, references, right to work checks, HR system updates and exit documentation.
- Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring changes to contracts, salaries and personal details are processed correctly.
- Supporting the delivery of HR policies, procedures and initiatives across the wider business.
- Preparing HR reports, management information and documentation for internal requirements, PQQs and tender submissions.
- Supporting HR projects and process improvements, looking for ways to make the employee experience and HR service more effective.
- Handling employee queries professionally and sensitively, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Working collaboratively with managers and colleagues across the organisation to ensure HR processes are applied consistently and effectively.
- Keeping up to date with employment legislation and HR best practice and supporting the wider team with compliance.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, approachable and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in people and HR. You may currently be working as an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, HR Advisor, People Advisor or in a similar HR focused role and be ready for an opportunity that gives you greater exposure and responsibility. We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience working within an HR or People function.
- Some practical employee relations exposure - we're interested in what you've actually been involved in, rather than requiring extensive end to end ER experience.
- A sound understanding of UK employment legislation and HR processes.
- Excellent organisation, administration and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with employees and managers.
- The ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership and get things done.
- A genuine desire to develop your HR career.

- £28,000 - £35,000 salary
- Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5pm
- Hybrid working following successful completion of probation
- Exposure to HR activity across a nationwide organisation
- Genuine opportunity to develop your employee relations experience
- A varied role with plenty of scope to learn and take ownership
- Supportive and collaborative HR environment
- Opportunities for long-term career development and progression
