About the role: This fixed-term contract is specifically designed for a professional at the beginning of their finance career who already brings hands-on experience of at least one year's industry experience under their belt. Joining Impression, you will hit the ground running by bringing your proficiency to our day-to-day processes. Responsibilities:

  • Daily Transaction & Ledger Integrity: Managing daily bank reconciliations within Xero to an excellent standard; proactively sourcing, coding, and matching bills to maintain clean financial records while taking full ownership of nominal ledger postings and resolving subsequent queries.
  • Compliance & Authorisation Workflows: Passing fully validated invoices to the Assistant Accountant, ensuring all items are strictly reviewed and approved in alignment with company authorisation limits and internal compliance benchmarks.
  • Workflow Automation Ownership: Driving the automated ApprovalMax process from initial data entry through to final completion, enforcing consistent finance approval workflows to safeguard our internal audit trails.
  • Expense Management & Policy Enforcement: Reviewing, verifying, and approving employee expenses with a sharp eye for accuracy; confidently communicating and pushing back where requests fall outside of company compliance scopes or expense policies.
  • Credit Control & Debt Management: Taking ownership of establishing credit limits with Euler Hermes, meticulously recording non-paying accounts, and executing the timely collection of aged debt to optimise cash flow and provide clear visibility of outstanding positions.
  • Timeline Delivery Support: Actively supporting the finance team during high-priority month-end close procedures and annual year-end audit cycles, assisting with balance sheet reconciliations to ensure a smooth, efficient, and timetable-driven process.

Flexible working at Impression without losing team connections. We love the focus of deep work at home, but we value team connections just as much. That’s why we practice a hybrid model with a minimum of one purposeful Pulse Day in the office per week to catch up and collaborate.

What makes us different: We are proud to be listed on the “Flexa 100” Most Flexible Companies to work for and to be officially recognised as a Great Place to Work. Alongside our amazing culture, our benefits make us stand out as a great employer.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: We're listening and we're learning. We’re committed to embracing diversity and promoting equal opportunities, both within our teams and through the services we provide. But we know we still have work to do. Improving fairness – in our agency and our industry – is something we’re passionate about, and we’re committed to having the conversations, making the changes and helping other businesses to do the same. We pledge to promote equal opportunities and, as per the Equality Act 2010, will not tolerate discrimination on the grounds of: gender, gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation, race, colour, nationality, religion, age, disability, caring responsibilities or beliefs. We’ll also make every effort to represent different genders, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds and sexualities at the events, panels and discussions we run.

Please note, this role is a hybrid role, in line with our flexible working policy. We look to hire candidates who are no more than a 90-minute journey away from our office locations to ensure your personal time is protected and that you're able to travel into the office when necessary.
