A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Clerk of Works to support the immediate delivery of its Highways and Transport Capital Programme. This is a hands-on, site-based contract role requiring a confident professional who can step in quickly, take ownership of construction oversight and ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly and to specification. This is not an observing role. It is an assurance and accountability role.
The Assignment
You will act as the Council's on-site representative across a range of highways and public realm schemes, ensuring contractors deliver against drawings, specifications, standards and programme.
Key responsibilities
- Daily site inspections of highways and traffic projects
- Monitoring contractor performance and quality of workmanship
- Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, NRSWA, Highways Act and Traffic Management legislation
- Overseeing temporary traffic management and site safety
