I'm working with a London local authority embarking on a significant organisational transformation programme, with real investment behind it and a clear commitment to improving the way the organisation works, develops its people and delivers services.

They're looking for an experienced Senior Change & Organisation Development Lead to play a key role in that journey.

This is a broad, visible and genuinely influential position where you'll work across multiple transformation programmes, helping senior leaders navigate change, strengthen leadership capability and build an organisation that's better equipped for the future.

If you're looking for another role where you're producing strategy documents, facilitating the occasional workshop and moving on to the next project, this probably isn't it.

This organisation is looking for someone who enjoys making things happen.

You'll work alongside senior leaders and programme teams to ensure the people side of change is every bit as strong as the operational delivery.

That means designing practical organisation development interventions, supporting organisational design, developing leadership capability, improving engagement and helping services adopt new ways of working that genuinely stick.

You'll have the opportunity to influence major organisational decisions, challenge established thinking, introduce new approaches and help create an environment where continuous improvement becomes part of everyday business rather than another corporate initiative.

The Opportunity This role offers an unusual level of variety and exposure.

One day you could be working with senior leaders on organisation design and leadership capability, the next supporting a transformation programme, designing engagement approaches or using organisational insight to understand what's working, what's not and where further intervention is needed.

You'll work across multiple services, build strong relationships throughout the organisation and become a trusted partner to leaders responsible for delivering complex organisational change.

It's a role that combines strategic thinking with practical delivery and would suit someone who enjoys operating in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve and no two weeks are quite the same.

About You You'll already have significant experience delivering organisational development and change within a large, complex organisation.

You'll understand how organisations respond to change, how leaders influence culture and how successful transformation depends on bringing people with you rather than simply introducing new processes.

You'll be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, able to build credibility quickly and confident enough to offer constructive challenge where needed.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys turning ambition into delivery and understands that successful change is measured by what people actually do differently, not by the number of strategies produced.

You'll bring experience of

  • Leading complex organisational change and transformation programmes.
  • Organisation Development, Organisation Design and leadership development.
  • Supporting cultural change and organisational effectiveness.
  • Developing practical change and engagement approaches.
  • Influencing senior stakeholders and building trusted relationships.
  • Using organisational insight, diagnostics and feedback to shape interventions.
  • Embedding sustainable change within large, complex organisations.

Local government experience would be welcomed, although candidates from other complex public sector or highly regulated environments with significant organisational change experience are equally encouraged to apply.

Why This Role?

This is more than a two-year fixed-term contract.

It's an opportunity to join an organisation that has made a genuine long-term commitment to organisational improvement and has the leadership support to make meaningful change happen.

For the right person, this is the chance to leave a lasting legacy, work on programmes with real visibility and play a central role in shaping how a large organisation develops over the coming years
