We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Engineering Team at our client's manufacturing site based in Skelmersdale that produces a wide range of recognised snacks!

Working in this fast-paced manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for the planned maintenance schedule and responding to breakdowns, keeping downtime to a minimum and ensuring the smooth running and maintenance of the manufacturing equipment.

The ideal candidate will be Apprentice trained with a mechanical bias and a good understanding of electrical engineering, ensuring safety standards and procedures are prioritised at all times.

Key Responsibilities of a Shift Technician:
  • Quality Checks of maintenance activities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Standards at all times
  • Demonstrate hands-on ownership and confidence when responding to breakdowns
  • Prioritise system faults
  • Accurately record work carried out
  • Collaborate with colleagues
  • Ensure CMMS is correctly updated
Experience and Qualifications required for a Shift Technician:
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Qualification, Time Served Apprenticeship
  • Good understanding of Siemens / Allen Bradley
  • Good understanding of SCADA control systems
  • Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good manufacturing practices
Salary and Benefits of a Shift Technician:
  • Annual Salary £58,943 (inclusive of shift allowance)
