Due to an internal promotion we are looking for a proactive Mechanical Process Engineer to join the team at our clients busy manufacturing site that is easily commutable from Accrington, Darwen and Blackburn.
You will be responsible for enhancing production performance and developing efficient systems on a wide range of machinery identifying opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
You will be working closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering teams to drive operational excellence, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Process Engineer:
- Mechanical fault finding and maintenance of machinery
- Identify mechanical processes for manufacturing improvements and waste reduction
- Collaborate with the team to establish cost reduction and efficiency improvement
- Analysing and verifying machine cycle times to ensure alignment with planned production targets
- Assist in tool changes and take responsibility to set up machines in readiness for operation.
- Check operator methods to ensure operations are performed safely, correctly, and efficiently
Experience & Qualification required for a Mechanical Process Engineer:
- HNC Qualified with a minimum 3 years' experience
- Experience in a Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role within a production environment
- Confident fault finding skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to prioritise business needs
- Knowledge of automation processes would be an advantage
Salary and Benefits of a Mechanical Process Engineer:
- Salary £48,000 DOE
- Monday - Friday 8:15 - 5:00pm
- Private Healthcare
