We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Lead Engineering Technician to join our clients team at their fast-paced distribution centre in West Yorkshire.
This is a key role within the Engineering Team and you will be the first line of technical leadership on the floor, keeping the facility running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. You'll work across a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, leading a small team of technicians and support techs while carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities for a Lead Technician- Leading and supporting a team of Technicians across shift patterns, providing day-to-day technical guidance and mentorship
- Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and conveyor systems
- Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly to minimise disruption to operations
- Overseeing compliance with health and safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and site procedures
- Coordinating with operations management to schedule maintenance activities around production demands
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to projects to increase equipment reliability and efficiency
- Escalating complex issues to the Engineering Manager and assisting with contractor management when required
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-mechanical Engineering
- Significant experience in a maintenance engineering role within a distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience with conveyor systems, MHE (Materials Handling Equipment), or automated warehouse systems
- Proven ability to lead or supervise a team, even informally
- 18th Edition wiring regulations (or willingness to work towards)
- Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work
- Salary c£46,000 + Shift allowance and overtime opportunities
- 3 Shift Pattern: Mornings, Afternoons, Nights
- 8 HOUR SHIFTS
