We are looking for a proactive and experienced Engineering Team Leader to join the team at our clients busy highly automated distribution centre in Stafford.
Overseeing a team of engineers and technicians you will be responsible for ensuring the planned maintenance schedule is up to date and delivering high-quality engineering solutions. You'll play a key role in driving continuous improvement, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This is very much a hands-on position where you will be mentoring the team and providing technical support across the wider operation.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of engineers and technicians to achieve departmental goals.
- Oversee planning, allocation, and execution of engineering tasks and projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with other departments to support production and maintenance activities.
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development of team members.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field).
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an engineering environment.
- Strong technical background and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
