We are looking for a confident Apprentice Trained Mechanically Bias Maintenance Engineer to join the team at our clients manufacturing site in Leicester. This is a well-established manufacturing business operating in a fast-paced production environment and we are looking for a committed engineer that can strengthen the team responding to breakdowns, carrying out planned maintenance and support continuous improvements. Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
  • Work on conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, belts, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery
  • Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

Skills & Experience Required for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • Time-served Mechanical Engineer / Apprenticeship trained
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • CMMS and SCADA systems experience
  • Basic electrical competency (advantageous but not essential)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to shift work
