If you can answer yes to these questions and you are looking for a new challenge we have a fantastic opportunity to join our Finance team as a Bookkeeper based in Langley Mill, Nottinghamshire.
Working closely in our Head Office with our Management Team, as well as liaising with our Lichfield and Lincolnshire offices, you will need to have strong communication skills as you will be dealing with internal company finances as well as external Clients and Suppliers alike.
Key Responsibilities of a Bookkeeper:
- Accounting system data input and management.
- Purchase Ledger - checking supplier invoices with internal records, coding and processing payments when due.
- Sales Ledger - raising and issuing client invoices, preparing customer statements and chasing overdue debtors.
- Liaison re payroll matters with our external payroll provider.
- Daily bank reconciliations in Xero.
- VAT Returns Review and reconciliation.
Other Accounting duties:
- Preparing period end accounts and associated management information.
- Posting accruals, prepayments and other journals.
- Monitoring performance against annual budgets and forecasts.
- Analysing and reporting on company financial performance.
Experience and Skills of a Bookkeeper:
- AAT qualified (level 3), equivalent qualification or will accept Qualified by Experience.
- At least four years experience in an Accounting position.
- Strong communication skills.
- Reliable and highly organised individual.
- Xero experience would be preferential but not essential.
- Proficient with Excel spreadsheets and comfortable with the use of other Microsoft packages.
Salary and Benefits of Bookkeeper:
- Salary - up to £32,000 dependent on experience
- 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday
- 25 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays
- Employer contribution to pension scheme
