We are looking for a confident Maintenance Engineer with a Mechanical Bias to join our clients Engineering Team at their busy manufacturing site in Blackburn. You will need a strong understanding of Hydraulics and working with the wider engineering team you will be responsible for maintaining the machinery, supporting machine set ups and improving cycle times. Having experience and a good understanding of plastics process, injection, blow moulding machinery and manufacturing would be advantageous, to further enhance the team at this global manufacturing site in the heart of Blackburn.
Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of machinery on site.
- Diagnose and fault-find, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Support machine changeovers, tool changes and continuous improvement activity.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety procedures.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
Experience & Qualification required for a Maintenance Engineer
- Apprentice-trained or time-served Maintenance Engineer with a minimum Level 3 qualification.
- Experience working on injection and blow moulding machines would be an advantage.
- Mechanical background.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Proactive, flexible and a strong team player.
