We are looking for a confident Maintenance Engineer with a Mechanical Bias to join the established Engineering team at our clients busy manufacturing site in Blackburn. You will need to have a solid understanding of Hydraulics and working with the wider engineering team you will be responsible for tooling support and ensuring consistent product quality across the manufacturing operations. Having experience and a good understanding of plastics process, injection, blow moulding machinery and manufacturing would be advantageous, to further enhance the team at this global manufacturing site in the heart of Blackburn.
Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of machinery on site.
- Diagnose and fault-find, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Support machine changeovers, tool changes and continuous improvement activity.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety procedures.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
Experience & Qualification required for a Maintenance Engineer:
- Apprentice-trained or time-served Maintenance Engineer, Level 2 considered depending on experience.
- Experience working on injection moulding machines would be an advantage.
- Mechanical background.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Proactive, flexible and a strong team player.
Salary and Benefits of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Salary £46,800.
- Panama Shift DAYS 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off.
- Holiday 34 Days (includes 2 week Christmas shutdown).
