We are looking for a confident Maintenance Engineer with a Mechanical Bias to join our clients Engineering Team at their busy manufacturing site in Blackburn. You will need a strong understanding of Hydraulics and working with the wider engineering team you will be responsible for maintaining the machinery, supporting machine set ups and improving cycle times. Having experience and a good understanding of plastics process, injection, blow moulding machinery and manufacturing would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of machinery on site.
- Diagnose and fault‑find mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Support machine changeovers, tool changes and continuous improvement activity.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety procedures.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
Experience & Qualification required for a Maintenance Engineer:
- Apprentice-trained or time-served Maintenance Engineer with a minimum Level 3 qualification.
- Experience working on injection and blow moulding machines would be an advantage.
- Mechanical background.
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Proactive, flexible and a strong team player.
Salary and Benefits of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Salary £46,800.
- Panama Shift DAYS 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off.
- Holiday 34 Days (includes 2 week Christmas shutdown).
