An ambitious and newly established law firm is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Solicitor to lead its Conveyancing Department as Partner and Head of Department. With a strong focus on short-term lending, real estate, corporate recovery, and litigation, the firm is poised for rapid growth and is looking for a senior professional to be a key player in its success story.

The firm specialises in high-value and complex property matters, including developments, distressed asset sales, and bridging finance transactions, serving a diverse client base within the financial services and real estate sectors. Role Overview:

The successful candidate will lead the firm’s conveyancing function, driving strategic growth while handling complex property transactions. You will play a pivotal role in mentoring junior team members, developing client relationships, and contributing to the wider direction of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Conveyancing Department, including junior solicitors and support staff
  • Define and deliver the department’s strategic objectives and growth plans
  • Handle a range of residential and commercial conveyancing matters, from start to finish
  • Advise clients on all aspects of property law and manage complex transactions
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key legal documentation
  • Support and advise on distressed property transactions, including sales by insolvency office holders and receivers
  • Represent clients in negotiations and property-related disputes
  • Foster strong client relationships through excellent service and communication
  • Provide mentoring and training for junior lawyers
  • Work across a wide portfolio including developments, hotels, residential, mixed-use, apartment blocks, buy-to-let, and freehold investments

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant conveyancing experience
  • Proven leadership experience in a legal environment
  • Track record of handling complex and high-value property transactions
  • Experience with distressed assets and insolvency-related property sales is advantageous
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and drive to grow a team
  • Client following preferred but not essential
  • Commitment to professional development and collaborative working
