Our client is seeking a senior trader with fertilizer or chemicals experience to play a highly entrepreneurial role within a business growing 7x year-on-year. This is a rare and unique opportunity to move beyond legacy trading models and help build a more liquid, scalable, and efficient platform that directly serves end-buyers and strengthens global supply chains for essential products.

- Partnering closely with product and technology teams to drive innovation – shaping and enhance a proprietary, technology-backed trading platform in response to client and market needs
- Originating, structuring, and negotiating commercial agreements across the fertilizer product spectrum
- Leveraging market intelligence, macroeconomic data, and real-time insights to inform and develop the company’s proprietary market insights platform product
- Working closely with finance and operations teams to ensure efficient, timely, and low-friction trade execution
- Driving platform adoption by actively engaging counterparties in your network and through business development, industry networking, and global conferences
- Expanding the firm’s trading footprint into new geographies and adjacent fertilizer and chemical product segments
- 5+ years’ experience in commercial fertilizer markets, ideally in trading or sales trading roles, with demonstrable revenue, business development and P&L ownership across core fertilizer products
- A well-established network of global suppliers and customers, with strong understanding of key geographies and product dynamics
- A highly commercial, performance-driven mindset, coupled with the curiosity and ambition to challenge legacy trading models and drive innovation
- Strong negotiation capability, underpinned by a professional, credible, and relationship-led communication style
- An entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to take ownership of markets or product lines and support the development of junior talent
- Exposure to South American fertilizer markets is advantageous but not essential
- Fluent English; additional languages (particularly Spanish) are beneficial but not required
