Imperium Commodity Search is working with a fast-growing London-based energy brokerage as they look to expand their experienced European Power Desk, to bolster their offerings to clients in the energy sector.
We are looking for experienced brokers, as individuals or as a team, with a proven track record in the energy brokerage industry, to focus on brokering European Power contracts (futures, swaps, spark spreads) servicing customers in these markets to generate additional revenue. The role will require the individual to develop and maintain strong client relationships, as well as identifying prospective new clients, predominantly focusing on the CWE Power Markets, to contribute to the ongoing success of the desk.
You will be:
- Maintaining and developing existing client relationships and actively drive business development through networking and outreach to push desk revenues across the European Power business.
- Providing timely and accurate execution services to producers, trading houses, funds and institutional clients across European Power.
- Keeping track of new intelligence of the products and markets in which you work to provide in-depth market analysis, reporting, pricing, research and industry news across European Power to the team and counterparties.
- Understanding the desk’s and group business strategy and seek to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients.
- Working with internal on-boarding/compliance teams for opening new lines, always adhering to compliance requirements.
We would love to speak to you if you have:
- 3+ years experience as a European Power Broker in an IDB/FCM execution environment.
- Excellent knowledge of the energy markets within your specialist field.
- Proven track record of managing multiple client types in trade execution within the power market.
- Transferable contacts/counterparties across trading houses, producers, funds, institutional clients, market makers etc.
- Strong commercial focus with excellent communication skills.
