Imperium Commodity Search is retained by a boutique and growing ship brokerage, operating across the dry cargo space. With long term panel access and established flows, our client is seeking a long term structure that rewards fairly across the desk with long term incentive and upside for the right individuals who wish to take their career to the next phase. If you are currently working in dry cargo charter brokerage/ship brokerage, across vessel sizes from Handy up to Ultrasize and looking for long term upside coupled with a positive, team based culture, we would love to speak.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Developing business across trading houses, corporates, shipowners and commodity market participants to offer dry bulk and dry cargo charter brokerage and advisory services
  • Negotiating spot and time charters across the dry cargo/bulk space, in your niche specialism ship class (Handymax, Panamax, Supramax, Ultramax etc.) to maximise revenues and grow the desk through structure and sustained growth of client base
  • Charter broker both competitive and exclusive dry bulk business within your target geographical markets (EMEA, MED, Gulf Coast etc.) promoting the business across her service offering
  • Negotiate/close new charter party contracts ensuring all relevant documentations are complete with all company standards and procedures being adhered to
  • Liaise with operations and internal/external counterparties to remedy any issues arising on the dry cargo desk
  • Identify new market opportunities within the dry bulk/dry cargo and dry charter sector maintaining a handle on industry news and market analysis to execute global business development strategies
We would love to hear from you if you have:
  • 1+ years’ experience within a Ship brokerage in a commercial/broker capacity
  • Solid understanding of brokerage documentation and post-fixture operations (working with post-fix teams etc.)
  • Solid understanding of the Dry Cargo/Dry Bulk sector, ability to analyse and produce in depth market reports highlighting trends and pricing data both internally and externally with customers.
  • The ability to provide a value-add and consultative service to clients in the space, demonstrating effective retention of clients and excellent service levels.
  • Located in London/able to relocate with right to work in the United Kingdom
