Job Title: Energy Broker (Multiple Asset Classes/Roles, Team and Individual Moves)
Location: London, UK/ Other UK Locations possible
Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially and exclusively retained by a new-to-market but rapidly growing brokerage business with an aggressive and long-term project in multiple energy asset classes, both physical and derivative.
Our client has multiple offices in the US and UK, with a particular focus on building a substantial UK based business. With huge upside potential and the leeway/autonomy to realise it, this opportunity is one for small teams/senior individuals looking for less red-tape, more freedom and a greater ability to reap the rewards of their work.
The firm has an excellent market reputation, despite being newly created, with the owners and leaders in the business stalwarts of their respective markets. Counterparty access across the industry is unparalleled and the ability to cross-sell is already well established.
Whilst many new entrants to the space seek modest growth in their core markets, our client is well positioned and motivated to rival the largest FCMs/IDBs in the energy space and seeks a broad and rapid growth model in Crude, Products, Oil, NGL/LNG, Chemicals, Freight, Biofuels, Renewables and other energy niches, both physical and derivative.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the growth of a new desk within the business in your specialist asset class focus, aggressively targeting market share and working with the wider desk on penetration of key markets (NGL, LPG, LNG, Crude, Products, Distillates, Chemicals, Biofuels, Renewables etc.)
- Transition your existing book and continue to grow this with support from in-house research and leadership, whilst leading the growth of your asset class through client on-boarding, hiring and team growth where appropriate
- Stay plugged into market trends/movements to distribute key data and execution services to your energy clients
We would love to hear from you if:
- You are operating a substantial individual book, or are a member of a small-mid sized team of professionals on a physical and/or derivative energy brokerage business
- You have transferable business which would benefit from less red-tape, better counterparty access, faster on-boarding and a flatter structure
- Are frustrated with splits, upside or on-boarding issues at your current shop
- Are keen to work in a forward thinking, growing organisation with a flat and rewarding structure
- Have an excellent knowledge/understanding of a niche energy vertical
If you are finding yourself looking towards the door in your current role, and the above sounds like it could appeal, we would love to hear from you. You won\’t need a CV/Resume put together if you don’t have one.
