Job Description
Imperial Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading logistics provider for a Transport Administrator to join their well-established pallet network team based in Newton Aycliffe.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and experience in transport or logistics, to contribute to the efficient and professional running of our pallet distribution operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and action messages in a timely manner
- Handle incoming phone calls and redirect where appropriate
- Arrange delivery of unallocated jobs
- Manage rescheduled deliveries and update the Transport Management System (TMS) accordingly
- Respond to courier requests
- Ensure timed deliveries are properly planned and achievable, monitoring to prevent failures
- Oversee scheduled collections and report any issues in good time
- Action "Held in hub" reports and manage unreceived pallet jobs
- Update daily service performance email
- Book in retail deliveries via systems
- Follow up on "On Hold" jobs – chase redeliveries, returns, or delivery extensions
- Perform pricing checks and complete relevant reports
- Provide cover within the department during holidays or sickness
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in transport or logistics
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong IT skills and confidence using transport management systems
- Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative
- Highly organised, professional, and proactive
- Hours of work 8.30-5.30 Monday to Friday with flexibility to suit business needs
