We are seeking a dedicated manager to lead the ground content programme for the iconic IWM Duxford air show. The role involves commissioning, coordinating, and delivering creative content, ensuring marketing, visitor information, and signage align with event themes, driving commercial opportunities, coordinating contractors, maintaining safety standards, and supporting budget planning. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for internal departments and external service providers.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead on commissioning, coordinating, and delivering the air show ground content programme.
- Source and select traders, develop event commentary, and contribute content for air show publications.
- Ensure all on-site and digital marketing, visitor information, and signage align with event themes and audience needs.
- Drive commercial opportunities, supporting visitor flow and secondary spend.
- Coordinate contractors across entertainment, catering, infrastructure, signage, logistics, and hospitality.
- Maintain excellent safety, compliance, and operational standards throughout build, delivery, and derig.
- Support budget planning, reporting, and ongoing improvements to processes, delivery, and visitor experience.
- Act as the first point of contact for internal departments and external service providers.
About You
- Experience developing public-facing event programmes and understanding the operational needs of large-scale events.
- Confidence working with marketing and communications teams to create cohesive visitor messaging.
- Proven experience managing contractors or service providers and building strong relationships across teams.
- Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets or contributing to financial planning.
- Professional qualifications in event or project management.
- Experience in the heritage sector, visitor operations, or security environments.
