Role

Distribution Assistant

You will be expected to work independently as well as across different teams in order to contribute to and deliver the priorities of IWM – using your knowledge, skills, talent and potential to the best of your ability.

You will focus at all times on delivering excellent customer service, ensure value for money at all times while being professional, courteous and demonstrating the behaviours and attributes expected of all IWM employees. You will also adhere to all corporate standards, and use corporate systems as directed to ensure consistency of service, brand and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Stock Control- Goods In
  • To ensure that all supplier deliveries of stock are received and processed via Goods In.
  • To ensure that deliveries received match the Purchase Orders – highlighting any stock discrepancies to the supplier and DM immediately.
  • To inform the DM if stock received is of poor quality or if there is a significant change to the product (e.g., colour, size, packaging etc.) from previous orders.
  • When dealing with deliveries, ensure that all stock is correctly priced, bar-coded, and cross checked with the EPOS system.
  • Stock Management- Goods Out
  • To ensure that the picking, packing and distribution of stock to Imperial War Museum branches is completed efficiently and effectively and to the planned schedule.
  • To ensure all online, mail order & trade orders are picked, packed, and dispatched to agreed service level agreements.
  • Health & Safety
  • To ensure that all Health & Safety regulations are always adhered to.
  • To ensure that all stock you handle is stored in accordance with IWM and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Communication & Relationships
  • To ensure that you effectively communicate with colleagues and the DC manager feeding back relevant information.
