The Churchill War Rooms has a busy and growing tours and experiences business, which offers private behind the scenes tours of the historic rooms, both inside and outside of the public opening hours, on weekends and bank holidays.

The private tour offer allows customers to go behind the scenes and into our historic rooms, including the Cabinet Room and Churchill’s Bedroom. We have recently expanded our offer to include exclusive afterhours access and hospitality packages. Going forward, the IWM wishes to expand its experiences business by offering high-end hospitality packages.

The Commercial Events and Tours Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the offer, as well as overseeing the continual development and improvement of the offer. In addition, they will also support with the development of new experiences and tours.

As part of overseeing the day-to-day offer, the Commercial Events and Tours Coordinator will be responsible for personally hosting high-net-worth clients, delivering some tours themselves as well as ensuring that the highest standards of service delivery are provided to our clients.

The post holder will be the key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders and will be based on site 5 days a week, with occasional out of hours and weekend working. Out of hours working will vary but could be as early as 08:00 for pre-museum opening experiences and as late as 20:30 for after hour experiences. The frequency of occurrence will fluctuate throughout the year in line with the demands from the tourist market, with May to August and the Christmas to New Year periods being our busiest periods.
