Duties:
- Oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the plant and facilities in the accountable areas.
- Responsible for ensuring that the engineering teams have the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to plans and budgets.
- Undertake administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting & monitoring.
- Control the engineering activities, ensuring adherence to legislative, site safety, and quality standards.
- Directly lead and motivate the team members in the pursuit of continuous improvement and plant uptime.
- Evaluate the training and skill development needs within the team to ensure that objectives are fully met.
- Provide relevant and up to date progress reports on current engineering activities.
- Managing 3rd party contractors and their performance.
- Develop procedures and ensure implementation and review when necessary.
- Take a leading role in utilising a plant planned maintenance system.
- Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
- Keep maintenance and service logs in accordance with the sites structures and report on daily activities.
- Work closely with the site H&S and Compliance engineers to not only adhere to legal compliance areas but develop them.
- Develop the engineering team within the department ensuring skills are maintained and developed.
- Ensure stores and maintenance planning team is developing and continually improving processes.
- Work in partnership with key external contractors engaging in good relationships to assist the site when necessary.
- Work alongside planning teams to ensure all outages are planned in a way to meet the businesses demands.
Requirements:
- A good track record in engineering including, hands on and management/leadership.
- Recognized engineering qualifications.
- A good track record in developing people.
- A good understanding of legal compliance in the workplace.
- Time-served apprenticeship.
