Imperial Recruitment Group are working with Middlesbrough College to appoint a Business Development Executive for the Newcastle area, working from their office in Central Newcastle. The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
Purpose: The Business Development Executive will report to the Associate Director of Business Development and will be responsible for increasing awareness of the Northern Skills brand across Tyne and Wear, Durham, and Northumberland. This office-based role focuses on executing targeted telesales and marketing strategies to generate employer enquiries and promote apprenticeships, boot camps, and bespoke training services. The role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts in schools, local careers services, and referral agencies to support employer engagement and learner recruitment. The postholder will also work closely with employers to understand their workforce development needs and deliver tailored recruitment solutions that ensure a high-quality experience for both employers and learners.
Duties:
- Lead Generation & Relationship Building: Conduct high-volume outbound telesales calls to employers across the region to promote apprenticeships, boot camps, and bespoke training solutions. Qualify leads through engaging conversations, understanding employer needs, and identifying opportunities for the wider team to follow up. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with employers to foster long-term engagement and repeat business. Register employer vacancies and gain a deep understanding of their business, culture, and workforce development goals.
- Marketing & Promotion: Develop and execute a localised marketing plan to promote Northern Skills and its services across Tyne and Wear, Durham, and Northumberland. Promote apprenticeship vacancies, boot camps, bespoke training courses, and employer services through various channels. Maintain a visible presence on social media, collaborating with the marketing team to promote events and showcase success stories.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key contacts in schools, local careers services, and referral agencies to support employer engagement. Attend local networking events, job fairs, and employer forums to raise awareness of Northern Skills’ services.
- CRM & Reporting: Actively monitor, update, and maintain CRM systems to ensure accurate tracking of employer interactions and lead progression. Provide regular reports on lead generation activity, conversion rates, and employer feedback.
- Collaboration & Strategy: Work closely with the wider apprenticeships and training teams to ensure a seamless handover of qualified leads. Share insights and feedback from employer interactions to inform marketing and recruitment strategies. Contribute to departmental strategic objectives and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Compliance & Flexibility: Demonstrate a commitment to Equality and Diversity policy, quality frameworks, and health and safety procedures. Be flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events and employer needs. Undertake other duties as required, in line with skills and experience.
Requirements:
- Experience in marketing, promotions, or sales-related roles.
