Warehouse Picker - Immediate start
Location: Middlesbrough Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 4:00pm Pay: £13.00 per hour (can be negotiable) Type: Temporary – with the opportunity to go perm
Purpose - To accurately pick customer orders using the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring pallets are built safely and correctly to meet customer requirements and dispatch deadlines.
Duties
- Accurately pick customer orders using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Use handheld barcode scanners/RF guns to complete picking tasks.
- Build mixed pallets for customer orders in line with picking instructions.
- Ensure pallets are stacked safely and securely for transport.
- Wrap and label completed pallets ready for dispatch.
- Maintain high levels of stock accuracy.
- Report any stock discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the picking area.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe manual handling practices.
- Work efficiently to achieve daily picking targets.
- Support the warehouse team during busy operational periods.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse picking experience.
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Experience using handheld barcode scanners / RF picking guns.
- Experience building mixed pallets for customer dispatch.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good understanding of manual handling techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience using IFS.
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (advantageous but not essential).
- Experience within FMCG, manufacturing or food warehousing.
- Experience working to daily picking targets
