Imperial Recruitment is working with a well-established education provider to appoint a Group Accountant on a six month contract to join their finance team. This is a hands-on role covering management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and year-end reporting, with line management responsibility for a small team. Key Responsibilities * Produce accurate, timely financial information for the group management accounts pack * Manage departmental budget review and business partnering for non-curriculum areas * Lead forecasting of staffing costs, including scenario modelling * Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and oversee control account checks * Line manage three direct reports, including BACS run authorisation * Support the annual budgeting and planning cycle * Act as key contact for external auditors and support year-end statements/regulatory returns * Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC * Reconcile core funding and monitor cash flow About You * CCAB or CIMA qualified * Grade C/above in Maths and English (or equivalent) * Strong experience of management accounts, year-end reporting and audit liaison * Experience of forecasting, scenario modelling and budget setting * Line management experience * Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience desirable * Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Please note this role is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references.
