As Made for Trade continues to expand its product portfolio, they’re launching an innovative aluminium window system and are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to lead its growth across the North of England.

If you’re passionate about developing new business, building long-term customer relationships and bringing innovative products to market, we’d love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales and working closely with the Commercial Director, you’ll play a key role in establishing and growing Made for Trade's aluminium windows offering. This isn’t just another sales role—you’ll have genuine influence over product development, commercial strategy and customer experience while helping shape the future of an exciting new product range. Working across the North of England, with occasional travel into Scotland, you’ll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing existing customer accounts and becoming a trusted partner within the fenestration and construction markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities while maximising existing customer relationships.
  • Build strong partnerships with fabricators, installers and trade customers.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell complementary aluminium products.
  • Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to support ongoing product development.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Sales and Commercial Director on pricing, commercial strategy and market positioning.
  • Represent Made for Trade at customer meetings, exhibitions, trade events and networking opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity reporting and contribute to business growth plans.

About You

We’re looking for a driven, commercially minded sales professional who enjoys developing relationships and opening new opportunities. You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience within business development or technical sales.
  • Experience within the glazing, fenestration, aluminium systems or wider construction products industry.
  • Strong knowledge of aluminium window and door systems.
  • The ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into commercial solutions.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach with excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the region.

Experience launching new products or working with aluminium system houses would be highly advantageous.

What’s in it for You?

  • Competitive salary with performance-related bonus.
  • Electric company car.
  • Laptop and mobile phone.
  • Company pension.
  • Gym membership.
  • Life insurance.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Health & wellbeing programme.
  • Company events.
  • Sick pay.
  • Home-based, field sales role with autonomy and flexibility.
  • The opportunity to directly influence the growth of an exciting new product line.

Why Join Made for Trade?

Made for Trade has built an outstanding reputation for manufacturing premium aluminium glazing solutions and continues to invest in innovation, people and product development.
