Live out Nanny/Governess, Notting Hill

A welcoming family based in Notting Hill is seeking an experienced full-time live-out Nanny-Educator for their 8-year-old daughter.This is a wonderful opportunity for a warm, engaging and proactive candidate to become a trusted and valued part of the family.

Nanny Duties

Working Monday to Friday, 07:30–18:30, with one half day off per week, the Nanny will take responsibility for the day-to-day care and wellbeing of the child. There may be occasional overlap with the parents around school runs.The role will involve school runs, preparing nutritious home-cooked meals, assisting with school-related administration, supporting homework and learning, managing the child’s wardrobe and handling light household errands. A housekeeper attends three times per week, so there is no general cleaning required.The family are particularly keen to find someone who can provide patient and creative support with phonics, reading, spelling and numeracy, helping to build the child’s confidence and enjoyment of learning. A background in Primary School education or early literacy/phonics support would be a bonus, although a formal teaching background is not essential for the right candidate.The ideal Nanny will share the family’s approach to creating a happy, active and sociable childhood, balancing enrichment and fun with focused homework and learning time. The family would love to find someone who is genuinely interested in the child’s wellbeing and development and who will build a strong, united partnership with the parents.The family travel for approximately two weeks per year and would like their Nanny to accompany them. Occasional babysitting will also be required.No pets, and the home is conveniently located close to parks, playgrounds and local shops. This is intended to be a long-term position for a candidate looking to become a trusted and integral part of family life.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Nanny/Nanny-Educator role
• Strong experience supporting children with reading, spelling, phonics and numeracy
• Primary School education or early literacy/phonics experience advantageous
• Enhanced DBS
• Paediatric First Aid
• Excellent checkable references
• Warm, proactive, organised and creative personality
• Genuine interest in the child’s development and wellbeing
• Start: ASAP

• Days: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 07:30–18:30, with one half day off per week (unpaid)
• Salary: £18 net per hour
