With 357 bedrooms, multiple dining venues, a workout studio, and destination rooftop bar, this will be a new beacon, bang in the heart of Bloomsbury, London.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and detailed Maintenance Manager to lead the engineering and property maintenance operations at our newly refurbished flagship hotel. This role is central to delivering a safe, efficient and beautifully maintained environment for guests and team members alike. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play a key part in ensuring the hotel operates smoothly from opening day and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Oversee the full maintenance function, ensuring the hotel’s facilities, systems and equipment are consistently maintained to 4-star deluxe standards
  • Lead, train and motivate the maintenance team to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality work
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes, ensuring timely completion and minimal operational disruption
  • Implement preventative maintenance schedules and support long-term asset protection across all areas of the hotel
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and statutory regulations, including COSHH and audit requirements
  • Manage departmental budgets, staffing levels and resources to support efficient and high-quality operations
  • Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers, ensuring quality, value, and compliance
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to address issues promptly and support seamless daily operations
  • Manage departmental payroll and scheduling to align with operational and budgetary goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation, inspection records, and equipment logs
  • Champion sustainability, energy efficiency and environmentally responsible maintenance practices

Who You Are:

  • You will have experience as a Maintenance or Property Manager ideally in a new opening hotel environment
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (2365) and 18th Edition Testing & Inspection
  • Strong technical expertise across electrical, plumbing, mechanical and building systems
  • Proven experience leading teams of 10 or more, with strong recruitment, coaching and performance management capability
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with experience managing budgets and maintenance systems
  • Proficiency in maintenance software and a sound understanding of compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with colleagues, guests, and contractors
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on efficiency, safety, and long-term operational excellence
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts in line with a 24/7 hotel operation
