Little Bill Laundry provides a reliable, environmentally friendly linen washing service to London hotels, making sure that your linen will be handled with the utmost care. We have been laundering linen for the hospitality industry for more than 100 years, from our automated industrial laundry facility based in Leyton (E10). We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Laundry Engineer to join our expanding team. The laundry produces over 500,000 pieces a week, working one shift 7 days a week with two tunnel washers, three ironers and three towel folders apart from other ancillary equipment. As our Laundry Engineer, you’ll play a vital part in both laundries, maintaining all machinery to ensure all service and repairs are done in a timely manner.
Person Specification
- Proven electrical engineering experience
- Demonstrable knowledge of health and safety practices
- Have experience in maintaining XFM‑S towel folders & HPM gas ironers
- Able to fault find using drawings
- Able to communicate in English to an advanced level (CEFR C1‑C2 Level or equivalent)
Qualifications
- City & Guilds (or equivalent) Mechanical qualification
- ONC/HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Level 3 City & Guilds)
- Skilled in electro/mechanical engineering with exposure to fault finding
- 2+ years post qualified in an industrial laundry environment
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement the preventive and corrective maintenance plan for all the machinery, installations, facilities and equipment
- Continuously manage maintenance operations
- Manage the preventive maintenance plan with external suppliers
- Fill in the daily logbook and the maintenance books for all the machinery and installations
- Ensure fault finding, service and repairs of laundry machines are maintained daily
- Undertake routine and running repairs in a timely manner
- Liaise with suppliers and other external parties when necessary
- Maintain records of electrical / mechanical breakdowns
- Prioritize tasks to ensure minimum impact on productivity
- Inform about any machinery breakdowns to the laundry production manager in a timely manner and the response time of the remedial job
- Update senior management team with data analysis and recommendations on a regular basis
