We're looking for a talented and dedicated Chef de Partie (CDP) to join our kitchen team. As a CDP, you will prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes, including meats, fish, pastries, and regional specialties, while ensuring high-quality standards. You will support kitchen operations, maintain food safety and hygiene, control supplies, minimise waste, and keep the kitchen clean. You will create an authentic London experience by ensuring each dish is prepared perfectly based on the hotel menu, creating memorable experiences for our guests. Based in Bloomsbury, the role is at Bedford Hotel – a 184-room property with a ground-floor restaurant bar, a secret garden and two naturally designed event spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare in advance food, beverages, materials and equipment needed for the service.
  • Provide direction to kitchen staff, including commis, breakfast chefs and kitchen porters.
  • Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards, such as managing the production of daily allergen sheets, handling guest complaints and fulfilling guest requests promptly.
  • Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes while maintaining culinary quality and consistency.
  • Support kitchen operations and ensure food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
  • Control supplies, minimise waste and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or Breakfast Chef in the hotel industry.
  • Proven supervisory experience gained through working in a busy kitchen.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong foundation in cooking techniques.
  • Passion for food and team-oriented attitude.
  • Creative flair for presentation and eye for perfection.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts such as early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Desirable: Level 3 Supervising Food Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Desirable: Proficiency in multiple languages.
