  • Act as the technical lead for UCAS data exchanges, managing regular send and receive processes, upgrades, and operational reporting.
  • Manage integrations between UCAS and core student record systems (Banner via Data Connect) and Dataverse, writing and optimising SQL queries to support data flows.
  • Liaise directly with external vendors, including UCAS and Ellucian, to resolve technical issues and co‑ordinate system enhancements.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex defects and architectural issues to prevent data discrepancies and safeguard user journeys.
  • Represent portal and integration delivery in sprint reviews and technical forums alongside Product Owners, Tech Leads, and senior stakeholders.
  • Progress DevOps maturity by contributing to the creation, maintenance, and automation of CI/CD pipelines.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong practical skills in Liquid, FetchXML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Dataverse, and managing SQL data flows or systems integrations (ideally including UCAS and Banner).
  • DevOps & Delivery: Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps, managing source control, pull requests, and multi‑tier environment deployment pipelines.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and analytical abilities to diagnose complex technical issues, engage directly with vendors and senior stakeholders, and take genuine ownership of solutions.

  • The opportunity to continue your career at a world‑leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity.
  • Benefit from a sector‑leading salary and remuneration package (including 43 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes).
  • Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day one, generous family leave packages, on‑site leisure facilities and cycle‑to‑work scheme.
