Research 75% The principal responsibility of the Clinical Research Fellow will be to undertake and complete a high-quality programme of clinical or translational research under the supervision of an Imperial College London academic. The research project will be developed according to the fellow's interests and previous experience and the expertise of the supervisory team. Research responsibilities will include, as appropriate to the individual project: development and delivery of the research project, including relevant regulatory and governance requirements; recruitment and clinical assessment of research participants where applicable; collection, analysis and interpretation of research data; participation in relevant laboratory, experimental medicine or clinical research activities; presentation of work at local, national and international scientific meetings; preparation of abstracts, scientific papers and the MD(Res) thesis; and active participation in the Directorate's research
groups, meetings and wider academic programme. Clinical 25% During clinical time, the fellow will participate in the delivery of renal and transplant services at Hammersmith Hospital. Clinical activities may include inpatient renal and transplant medicine, outpatient clinics and participation in specialist multidisciplinary meetings, including renal histopathology, imaging, transplantation, glomerular disease, lupus and vasculitis MDTs. The clinical component of the Fellowship will, where feasible, be planned to complement the fellow's research programme while maintaining and developing their clinical competencies in renal medicine. The Clinical Research Fellow will participate in the renal middle-grade out-of-hours rota alongside other appropriately experienced doctors within the Directorate.
