The institution is looking for a teaching practitioner to teach on our practical photography courses for learners on our programme. As Teaching Fellow in Practical Photography, you will design and deliver an engaging course, covering various approaches to photography using a DSLR camera, including effective equipment use, composition, and editing and presentation skills. You should be able to present these practical skills within the context of the history and aesthetics of photography to novice learners from diverse backgrounds.
In this role, you will devise and deliver face-to-face learning sessions to adult education learners. You should have the ability to explain and demonstrate DSLR photography technology and editing software in a way that is sensitive to the wide range of experiences adult learners bring. You will use interactive and inclusive activities to maintain high levels of learner interest and motivation, engaging pro-actively with learners throughout the course.
You will introduce learners to various digital photography technologies and methodologies, including:
- Composing and editing photographic images
- Using photography editing and presentation software
You will deliver a highly interactive course emphasizing practical activities, individual and group work, discussions, multimedia, and other diverse delivery methods, including slide presentations and hands-on workshops.
We seek an individual with proven competence in teaching practical digital photography in adult and higher education sectors, experienced in course design and learner-centered strategies. The successful candidate will work flexibly within a team, demonstrating strong communication and organizational skills. A high level of competency in digital photography hardware and software, an understanding of lifelong learners' needs, and the ability to travel weekly to west London for face-to-face teaching are essential.
