You will support high-level engagement activities, develop impactful communications, and coordinate outreach to promote the work of IPF and the Centre for Sectoral Economic Performance (CSEP) to policymakers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to initiatives that shape national policy and drive innovation, working collaboratively across Imperial and with external partners.

Based within the Imperial Policy Forum, you will lead stakeholder engagement activities across IPF’s core themes – sustainability, AI, health and space, security, and telecoms. A major part of the role will be supporting the Centre for Sectoral Economic Performance (CSEP), a joint initiative between Imperial’s Faculty of Engineering and Business School, focused on strengthening the UK’s high-value industries—such as engineering, life sciences, and data science—to drive economic growth. You will design and deliver engagement strategies, build strong relationships with policymakers, industry leaders, and academic partners, and support the development of communications materials and events. Working closely with colleagues across Imperial, you will ensure engagement activities are well-aligned with university priorities and effectively positioned to influence the policy and industry landscape. Reporting to the Director of the Imperial Policy Forum and managing a Stakeholder Engagement Officer, you will bring a strategic, creative approach to stakeholder engagement and a strong understanding of the UK policy environment.

Experience (4+ years) working in policy, public affairs, or a related communications environment, with a strong grasp of the UK policymaking process. Proven ability to develop and deliver communication strategies across digital, print, and events, including managing stakeholder engagement projects from planning to evaluation. Outstanding writing, editing, and proofing skills, with the ability to tailor content for a range of senior audiences across government, industry, and academia. Strong relationship-building skills, with experience managing internal and external stakeholders at senior levels within complex organisations. Proactive, organised, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating creativity, resilience, and excellent interpersonal skills.

The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity. Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes). Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day one, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities and cycle-to-work scheme. Interest-free season ticket loan schemes for travel. Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
