The post holder will be based at the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the School of Public Health at Imperial College London. The role involves close collaboration with teams working on the COSMOS, SCAMP, Airwave and REACT cohort studies, and contribution to the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit on Chemical and Radiation Hazards and Threats.
Responsibilities
- Project management and supervision of multidisciplinary research teams.
- Design, conduct and analyse large‑scale epidemiological studies and cohorts.
- Prepare and submit research proposals and publications to peer‑reviewed journals.
- Identify and secure external research funding.
- Collect data using novel methods and manage complex medical/health datasets.
- Apply advanced statistical techniques to longitudinal data.
- Engage in regular collaboration with collaborators, interns and doctoral students.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in epidemiology, medical statistics or a related quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with large‑scale data collection, survey methodology and handling complex health research datasets.
- Strong statistical knowledge and skills in the analysis of longitudinal datasets.
- Self‑motivated with a track record of independent, high‑quality research.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
