About the role
As a Project Manager in our Transformation Team, you'll be at the heart of some of Imperial's most ambitious, University‑wide change programmes. You'll help drive delivery of the PTO Framework Programme - an initiative reshaping how colleagues develop, grow and thrive across our professional, technical and operational roles. If you enjoy leading complex projects that make a meaningful difference to people's working lives, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to transformation on a major scale.
What you would be doing
- Manage strategic change projects from inception to completion, including planning, risk and dependency management, governance and assurance.
- Represent programme leadership in day‑to‑day project delivery, ensuring progress remains aligned to organisational objectives and strategic priorities.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Imperial-bringing clarity, structure, and problem‑solving at pace in a highly collaborative environment.
- Navigate agile, waterfall and hybrid project environments confidently, selecting the right approach to ensure successful delivery.
What we are looking for
- Experience delivering complex, strategic projects - ideally within people transformation or large‑scale organisational change.
- Strong project management expertise, with confidence adapting methodologies to different contexts (agile, waterfall, hybrid).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build trust at all levels.
- A proactive, solution‑focused approach, able to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in challenging or fast‑changing environments.
- Solid knowledge of project lifecycles, governance, benefits management and financial or procurement processes.
- Confidence using project management tools such as MS Project, Asana, Jira or similar.

This is an 18‑month fixed‑term role based at our White City campus, with opportunities for hybrid working. You'll be joining a collaborative, forward‑looking Transformation Team working on programmes that directly support Imperial's long‑term strategy and mission. This role will be appointed at the bottom of this salary scale with opportunities to increase spine-points with continued service.
