Imperial College School of Medicine is seeking to continually improve its quality assurance model for the MBBS programme. We are seeking a quality minded health care professional to work as part of an effective and cohesive academic and professional services team to further improve our QA model.
Main duties of the job
- Working as part of a team you will contribute to planning and implementing a detailed analysis of our existing Quality Assurance cycles for Primary and Secondary Care clinical placements.
- As a team we will review recommended improvements against established good practice and desired outcomes.
- You will contribute to teaching activity on the MBBS programme which will be commensurate with your clinical skills and experience.
- The role will require you to develop and maintain project documentation and appropriate records to demonstrate, deliver and evaluate against agreed project aims and outcomes.
- You will facilitate constructive collaboration with a broad range of partners including students, alumni, accrediting bodies, and employers.
- You will work with the Department of Primary Care, NHS WT&E Training Hub, Primary Care Network, and senior faculty to support and implement an evaluation of the effectiveness of the changes.
About us
The Imperial College MBBS programme consists of three Phases. Phase 1 comprises integrated clinical and scientific medicine, Phase 2 sees students take an intercalated BSc, and Phase 3 is dedicated to preparation for clinical practice. The curriculum is characterised by early exposure to clinical practice from Phase 1.
Job responsibilities
We work collaboratively across the Medical School, the Department of Primary Care and with our NHS and GP colleagues in the community. Our aim is to maintain the highest standards of undergraduate clinical education within primary care. This model may be extended to include other healthcare settings and NGO placements as required.

- An understanding of relevant educational theory and good practice relating to student learning, teaching, assessment and course design in Medical Education.
- Possess excellent project management skills and are proficient in managing multiple workflows in a multidisciplinary environment.

Person Specification
- Qualified and registered Healthcare Professional.
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council with a licence to Practise.
- Membership qualification or equivalent.
- An appropriate post‑graduate qualification (or equivalent experience) of teaching or management within a Higher Education or setting.
- Be a member of, or demonstrate willingness to work towards appropriate professional recognition and accreditation e.g., Associate/Fellow of the Higher.
Experience
- Experience of successful delivery of teaching in clinical environments.
- Clinical experience to post‑foundation year.
- Experience of working within quality assurance frameworks in a regulated environment.
- Experience of evaluation, critical enquiry and contribution to educational research.
- Experience in teaching innovation and the production of different learning materials, along with the associated administrative and management support work.
