We are seeking a Research Associate in Biostatistics and Population Health to join a leading interdisciplinary research group and contribute to high-impact data-driven research in population health. The overall theme of the research is analysing trends and patterns of health outcomes and risk factors in multiple populations.

The position will be in the Environment and Global Health Research Group. The research group is internationally renowned for its data-driven research on spatiotemporal analysis of health data.

You will lead the selection and application of statistical methods, and as relevant adaptation and modification of existing methods, for analysing large heterogeneous population health datasets, and the interpretation of results through statistical and epidemiological perspectives.

You must have a PhD or equivalent in statistics, biostatistics, applied mathematics, mathematical demography, statistical epidemiology or a related methodological discipline.

  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking about scientific problems.
  • Deep knowledge and intuition of statistical methods, especially Bayesian statistics, and their application to real-world data.
  • Motivation and creativity for problem solving.
  • Experience with large heterogeneous datasets, especially in population health.
  • Ability to efficiently manage and combine large quantities of data; excellent coding skills.
