About the role
Are you a detail-driven operations professional with a passion for financial control and commercial excellence? This is an exciting opportunity to join Imperial College London's Lifelong Learning department as Operations Manager β Commercial, playing a key role in ensuring the financial health and operational effectiveness of a fast-growing, commercially ambitious department. Reporting to the Head of Operations β Commercial, you will take day-to-day ownership of revenue collection, financial reporting, and commercial data management β ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant information is always available to support strategic decision-making. You will also line manage two Revenue Associates, contributing to building a scalable, high-performing team.
What you would be doing
- Revenue Operations & Financial Control β You will manage day-to-day revenue collection processes, lead income tracking, payment monitoring and debt management, and ensure accurate reconciliation between CRM, programme records and Imperial's financial systems. You will monitor programme and portfolio profitability through P&L reporting and maintain robust financial controls to meet audit and compliance requirements.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting β You will produce regular financial reports, dashboards and management information for senior stakeholders, analyse commercial performance data to identify trends and risks, and support the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting cycle. You will develop and maintain reporting tools and performance indicators that drive effective operational and strategic decision-making.
- Commercial Data Management & Continuous Improvement β You will maintain commercial data integrity across systems and reporting platforms, support the development and implementation of improvements to commercial systems and processes, and contribute to cross-functional projects that enhance operational effectiveness across Lifelong Learning.
What we are looking for
- Experience managing revenue operations, invoicing or accounts receivable processes
- Experience producing financial analysis and management reporting for operational and commercial decision-making
- A proven track record of implementing and improving operational processes and controls
- Experience managing staff and developing team capability
- Strong understanding of financial controls, revenue recognition and commercial reporting principles
- Knowledge of CRM and business systems as operational tools β Salesforce knowledge would be a particular advantage
- Strong commercial and financial analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and communicate recommendations clearly
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interrogate data to ensure accuracy and relevance
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional qualification or experience
- An understanding of university executive education or lifelong learning environments is desirable
