We’re seeking a Marketing Manager (Market Research and Insights) to play a pivotal role in shaping how Imperial Lifelong Learning understands and reaches its learners.
You’ll lead market research, insight and performance analysis activity, translating data into clear recommendations that strengthen recruitment, portfolio development and marketing investment across a diverse lifelong learning offer What you would be doing In this role, you will be the insight specialist for Imperial Lifelong Learning.
You will: Design, commission and deliver qualitative and quantitative market research to understand learner motivations, behaviours and decision-making across different audiences.
Translate insight into practical recommendations that inform portfolio design, pricing, positioning and recruitment strategies.
Develop and maintain audience segmentation frameworks to support more targeted and personalised marketing activity.
Monitor and analyse competitor activity, trends and best practice across the UK and international lifelong learning landscape.
Evaluate marketing and recruitment performance using analytics platforms, CRM data and reporting tools, working closely with senior colleagues to optimise campaigns, channel mix, audience targeting and conversion performance.
Support the monitoring, analysis and reporting of campaign performance across digital channels including paid media, CRM, website and SEO activity, helping identify opportunities to improve engagement and recruitment outcomes.
Produce dashboards, reports and forecasts that support planning, scenario modelling, attribution analysis and growth.
Support the maintenance and optimisation of reporting processes, campaign tracking frameworks and marketing systems to ensure accurate and effective performance measurement across digital activity.
Assist with audience segmentation, CRM reporting, workflow testing and data quality improvement initiatives to support more effective and personalised learner communications.
Conduct ongoing market, audience and competitor analysis, including pricing, positioning, search trends and campaign benchmarking, to identify opportunities and inform marketing and recruitment strategies.
Support conversion optimisation and user journey analysis through the evaluation of website, landing page and campaign performance data, helping identify opportunities to improve user experience, engagement and lead conversion.
Prepare and present insight reports, dashboards and recommendations to senior stakeholders in clear, engaging and actionable formats.
Ensure research and data activity complies with GDPR, ethical standards and institutional policies, managing delegated insight-related budgets responsibly.
Support the coordination and documentation of reporting processes, campaign activity and operational insight projects across multiple stakeholders and teams.
What we are looking for We’re looking for someone who combines analytical rigour with strong communication skills.
You’ll bring: Proven experience in market research, data analysis or marketing insights within a complex organisation.
Hands on experience of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Strong understanding of market research principles, segmentation, attribution and performance measurement.
Experience using CRM systems, analytics platforms, dashboard reporting tools and marketing performance data.
Experience supporting campaign reporting, audience analysis, data visualisation or marketing performance optimisation activity.
Confidence in interpreting complex data and communicating insight clearly to senior stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and influential approach.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and reporting requirements effectively.
An interest in digital marketing performance, learner behaviour and data-led decision-making.
Experience in higher education, professional learning or a related sector is desirable but not essential.
