A highly developed ability to find and tell good stories through a variety of mediums is important in this role, giving life to authentic accounts about what it's like to study at a world top 10 university in the heart of London. Our Marketing team helps Imperial attract the very best students from around the world, keeping up with the rapid evolution in how to best reach this geographically diverse audience, from staying on top of the constantly evolving social media landscape to crafting engaging email marketing campaigns.
With guidance from the Marketing and Recruitment Manager for the Faculty of Engineering, you will identify, coordinate, create and deliver marketing content through a range of digital and print channels, including social media, websites, departmental videos and event collateral. From creating engaging student and alumni profiles to supporting the editing of online course pages within Imperial's Study website, you will develop and champion content that supports, raises awareness and builds the reputation of the Faculty's undergraduate and postgraduate taught and research courses to global audiences of prospective students and their influencers.
Leading a large number of copywriting projects simultaneously will be a key part of this role. So, you'll need to be an excellent craftsperson, with an exceptional standard of written English and plenty of creativity. We're looking for someone who loves writing, and who can work at pace while keeping a sharp eye on the detail.
This role is co-located between the central Marketing team (into which the Faculty of Engineering Marketing team reports) within the Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions Division and the Faculty of Engineering. The Faculty of Engineering at Imperial undertakes world-leading teaching and research across ten engineering disciplines so, there is plenty to fire the imagination.
What you would be doing:
- You will deliver the Faculty of Engineering's student recruitment marketing content plan across a wide range of channels and support the wider marketing activities of the central Marketing team.
- Being responsible for the timely delivery of high-quality content across a wide range of marketing channels.
- Supporting an iterative cycle of review of Faculty course pages on the central Study website.
- Reporting on relevant marketing analytics to support continuous improvement practice.
- Working with and building excellent working relationships with Faculty academics.
- Organising photo and video shoots and interviews with current students and alumni.
What we are looking for:
- A consistent track record of working in a marketing role in fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding copywriting skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality written marketing communications for a wide variety of audiences and across multiple online and print channels.
- The ability to effectively organise and prioritise a varied and demanding workload, paying close attention to detail.
- Experience working within a set of brand messages and identity guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish effective links at all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent IT and content management skills.
