Imperial College has recently approved a Strategic Investment into the provision of a next generation Learning Management System (LMS).

The purpose of the role is to support the successful evaluation, and where it is deemed necessary, selection, implementation and adoption of a new LMS platform that effectively meets the evolving needs of Imperial College London. The role holder, as part of the wider project team, will play a critical role in driving the project forward, engaging with staff within the Business School and stakeholders across the College. This will involve a range of activities throughout the lifecycle of the project from developing user requirements to conducting training for users and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of a potential new LMS.

This role is crucial for enhancing the learning experience for students, streamlining and standardising processes and supporting our staff in delivering a high-quality educational experience for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as non-degree learners.

As part of the Business School’s IDEA Lab team, you\'ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Business School’s learning technologies, including the LMS (insendi), and other tools. Your primary responsibility will be to gain a comprehensive understanding of these systems, assess their functionalities, and provide essential insights for the ongoing project. Your active participation will significantly contribute to enhancing the educational experience for students and streamlining processes in line with Imperial College London’s strategic goals.

What you would be doing

While you will sit in the IDEA Lab Team you will work closely with the central college LMS project Team. This will involve facilitating the transition to a potential new system, developing processes, and contributing to user stories. As a key team member, you\'ll collaborate with various stakeholders, support product evaluations, and meticulously capture system feedback. To gain a solid understanding of the LMS, you’ll also contribute to the overall administration of the current LMS used in the Business School and any associated technologies.

What we are looking for

  • Degree or equivalent, preferably digital technology-related or comparable subject area
  • Experience of using digital technology to support education, ideally in a university environment
  • Demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for the use of digital technology in education
  • Experience of teaching/ training others in the use of new digital systems and/ or software
  • Understanding of project management techniques and methods
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders, including those without a technical background
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
  • Analytical skills, with the proven ability to understand, interpret and explain complicated data
  • Excellent time and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise own work to achieve tight deadlines
  • Team player, able to work collaboratively across team boundaries to achieve a common organisational goal, understanding the needs, objectives and constraints of stakeholders in other disciplines and functions
  • Comfortable with leading workshops and testing / training facilitation

Further information

This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment until July 2026 and secondments will be considered. This position is based at Imperial\'s South Kensington Campus (hybrid).
