You will drive building safety obligations under the Building Safety Act and Higher-Risk Building regime, collaborating with specialists to manage fire safety, statutory compliance, and asset condition. You lead Facilities Management across a residential portfolio, ensuring robust governance, evidence and assurance, and delivering constructive risk reporting. This role shapes safe, resilient student housing while supporting operational resilience and continuous improvement. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li sector-leading salary and remuneration package /li li 43 days annual leave /li li generous pension schemes /li li flexible working policy from day one /li li on-site leisure facilities /li li cycle-to-work scheme /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead building safety, statutory compliance, facilities management and maintenance for a designated residential portfolio /li li Oversee delivery of Building Safety Act and Higher-Risk Building requirements with governance, evidence, reporting and resident engagement /li li Manage gas/electrical safety, water hygiene, energy performance and equipment testing with risk tracking and escalation /li li Lead responses to audits, inspections, incidents and regulatory activity and drive corrective actions /li li Provide strategic and operational leadership for planned, reactive and statutory maintenance; contractor performance and asset condition /li li Develop and manage budgets, performance information and service quality within the facilities management function /li li Coordinate large works with residential operations and senior stakeholders to minimise resident disruption /li li Provide assurance to the Director and governance forums on risks, compliance and investment needs /li li Support emergency planning and business continuity across the portfolio /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Significant senior experience in building safety, statutory compliance, facilities management or related property discipline /li li Strong practical knowledge of Building Safety Act and Higher-Risk Building regime /li li Experience managing statutory compliance, assurance frameworks, audits and remedial plans /li li Experience of planned, reactive and statutory maintenance in complex occupied buildings /li li Ability to identify, assess, manage and escalate building-safety and fire-safety risks /li li Experience leading responses to major incidents, compliance failures and remediation /li li Effective leadership and people-management skills for developing teams /li li Ability to collaborate with technical specialists, consultants, contractors and senior stakeholders /li li Excellent judgement, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills /li li Financial awareness and experience with budgets, business cases and capital planning /li li Experience of capital projects, refurbishment or building mobilisation; knowledge of CAFM or building-performance systems (desirable) /li /ul ul li leadership and people management /li li stakeholder management /li li problem-solving and decision-making /li li CAFM or building-performance systems (desirable) /li li asset condition assessment /li li risk assessment and incident investigation /li /ul
