The Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London seeks to appoint a Clinical Associate Professor in Colorectal Surgery providing an outstanding opportunity to join a world‑leading team whose interdisciplinary research ranks as one of the global premier academic departments of surgery.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be expected to lead an academic programme in Colorectal Surgery aligned with the strategies of all three divisions within the Department of Surgery and Cancer.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead an academic programme in Colorectal Surgery.
  • Align the programme with the strategies of all three divisions within the Department of Surgery and Cancer.
  • Demonstrate an international reputation in research and the ability to attract funding.
  • Maintain a proven track‑record in publishing, education and clinical service.
  • Play an active role in undergraduate and postgraduate surgery education.
  • Develop the Colorectal service.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of departmental culture.

Qualifications

  • Full GMC (General Medical Council) registration.
  • Evidence of membership of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent.
  • Clinical specialty of colorectal cancer surgery.
  • Additional higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent) in a relevant area.

Experience

  • Developing international reputation in research with a record of securing funding.
  • Strong track‑record in publishing, education and clinical service.
  • Experience leading undergraduate and postgraduate education in surgery.
  • Experience developing a colorectal service.
