As our Alumni Communications and Digital Marketing Officer, you’ll help shape the way our community of more than 260,000 leaders in science, engineering, medicine and business engage with Imperial. From digital storytelling to strategic communications campaigns, you’ll play a key role in how alumni connect and engage with Imperial, and support our mission to build lasting and meaningful relationships between the university and our graduates.
With a major fundraising engagement campaign on the horizon, your work will help to mobilise alumni in support of Imperial’s Science for Humanity strategy, and will be central to achieving our ambitious goals.
This is a full-time hybrid role. Office days are based at our White City campus, with occasional travel to South Kensington.
What you would be doing
You’ll craft compelling content and campaigns across email, social media, and web platforms, writing and developing your own content as well as working with contributors and stakeholders. You’ll manage our communications schedule, coordinating a complex portfolio of 400 emails per year, build a dynamic social media portfolio across university and alumni channels, and devise creative campaigns to help the Advancement Division meet our goals. You’ll also manage our online community, help us welcome new graduates to the community and celebrate our Alumni Award winners, build a stock of sustainable and creative merchandise and be a brand ambassador, educating colleagues in our visual and verbal identity. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across Advancement and the wider university to ensure alumni feel informed, inspired, and connected.
What we are looking for
From storytelling and video production to audience segmentation and analytics, you’ll bring a blend of creativity and precision to every project.
We’d like to see:
- Proven experience in digital marketing, communications, and content creation
- Very strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail and tone
- Experience managing email campaigns, social media, and web content
- Confidence with analytics tools and performance reporting
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- A collaborative, proactive approach with a customer-focused mindset
- Familiarity with alumni engagement, advancement, higher education, or non-profit communications (desirable)
